Always wondered why some guys always manage to get the best of girls? Well, the secret is not good looks or a well-defined six pack, but the fact that women simply get attracted to certain personality traits and flock to men who possess them.

Below are seven of these "ideal types" of guys that women are drawn to, and an explanation as to why these guys are so appealing, reports Fox News. The list could help you understand what women are looking for, and most importantly, to make sure that you fit the bill.

The intelligent one
He instigates conversations that are intellectually stimulating, and listens to what she has to say in response. He makes her laugh with his clever sense of humour, and has an uncanny ability to make politics interesting. He can shoot the breeze with her for hours, and it will never get boring.

Why he is so irresistible
An intellectual connection is a big part of what sustains a relationship, and if you can show her that you've got that, she'll be hooked pretty quickly.

The confident guy
He is totally secure and sure of himself. He is assertive in public, and gives off an aura of power and control. In a relationship, he doesn't get jealous of other men; he doesn't feel threatened by his girlfriend's male friends or co-workers.

Why he is so irresistible
Women are attracted to confident men. Consider this: If you think you are great, she will probably be influenced to think the same. The confident man doesn't seek approval from women, and this makes them want him even more.

The artistic guy
The artistic guy is spontaneous and lives for the moment. Often, he will use his creativity to woo her, such as with a song he has written about her or a painting he has made for her.

Why he is so irresistible
Every woman wants to feel unique and special. There is no better way to make her feel this way than to use her as your muse or your source of inspiration. She is intrigued by the artistic guy's creative mind, and especially by the way he incorporates her into his art.

The exotic element
He comes from a faraway exotic country, and has a cute accent or a unique way of seeing the world. His social customs, and everyday behaviour can be a little quirky, but he always manages to come off as uniquely charming.

Why he is so irresistible
Women often choose this kind of guy if they are curious about the world, but most of the appeal comes down to a fascination with dating someone from another culture.

The considerate guy
He holds open her car door, and pulls out her chair. He foots the bill for dinner, and makes sure to offer her dessert. He always asks her out with reasonable notice, and picks her up at her door. He is generally sensitive to how she is feeling, and when she is ready to go home.

Why he is so irresistible
Once a woman has gone through her share of the bad guy, the rude guy and the not-calling-her-back guy, she will likely re-evaluate her priorities. It takes a bit of maturity on her part to realize this, but eventually most girls come around and realize that they want a guy who will treat them well in the long run. But, think twice before copying any of the above character types, for women can know when you are faking it.

Eternal romantic
He believes in classic romance. He is constantly bringing her flowers, chocolate and lighting candles during dinner. He calls her often to let her know he is thinking about her, and looks into her eyes and tells her how he feels.

Why he is so irresistible
A woman loves to feel appreciated, and the romantic guy makes this happen. He uses romantic gestures to show her he is thinking about her. As an added bonus, she feels free to reciprocate and act on her own romantic tendencies.

The free spirit guy (aka the Bad Boy)
The free spirit guy goes where the wind takes him, and the wind usually takes him on some kind of whacky adventure. He might ride a motorcycle, or he might skip work to take her on a last-minute road trip, but this guy doesn't worry too much about the consequences - he just sees where his own devices take him.

Why he is so irresistible
Every woman wants a bit of a rebel. She loves his carefree attitude and hopes that it will rub off on her too. The bad boy spirit adds an element of youthfulness to the relationship, and she loves to try taming him, although she knows she'll never actually succeed.
Shah Rukh and Salman's big patch up moment reached a crescendo of sorts when the two took to the dance floor and danced their hearts out to the tunes of 'Chaiya Chaiya.' While the actors called up Aamir Khan the same night when they hugged and made-up, they also made it a point to publicly admit to their patch-up. Salman accepted to the fact on Bigg Boss and Shah Rukh too gave his confirmation at a recent event. According to a report on Missmalini.com, the actor was quoted saying that though he and Salman had many moments of happiness in their lives and a few moments of sorrow, he could safely assure that they will always be there for each other to share each other's happiness and despair. Shedding some insight into their relationship Shah Rukh admitted that the two shared the same relationship as they had 25 years ago and that there was no bad blood between them. He attributed their fights to the fact that both of them are hot headed Pathans who can have issues at times. He further stated that Arpita is close to him as well and he had seen her growing up from the little girl she was. He asserted the fact that it was their sister's marriage and they had to be present for it.

While this was the cherry on the already decadent cake, there were many moments that led to this one. Here are the ones that managed to bring the two Khans together.

If there is anyone who can match Salman Khan’s popularity, star power and immense fan following, it is none other than his arch-rival Shah Rukh Khan. Both are considered as industry superpowers who have all the resources to set the cash registers ringing. Their mere presence in a movie is a sure shot way to make it a blockbuster. Hence, they are always in demand for films, endorsements, award functions, TV soaps or social events. They have a huge star presence and hence are also the biggest rivals of B-Town. Though there have been incidents when these two former friends have had their differences, both Salman and Shah Rukh have also come together for many causes.

Arpita's wedding: Salman Khan’s younger sister Arpita Khan’s wedding is in news for the most obvious of reasons. She achieved the impossible by bringing together the two reported rivals of B-Town. Speculations were rife that Salman might invite SRK for his little sister’s wedding and SRK might oblige him by attending it. However, doubts were put to rest when Salman graciously sent an invite to Shah Rukh and SRK said that he does not even need an invite for Arpita's wedding. He had gone on record to say that he had known Arpita since she was a little baby and hence he will definitely go for her wedding. In fact, SRK was seen enjoying every moment of the mehendi ceremony by being warm and getting clicked with Salman and talking with Salman’s father, Salim Khan. In fact, a report in Bollywoodlife.com says that SRK gifted Arpita a huge hamper of designer bags. Since Arpita loves designer bags, SRK got her the latest and best hand bags of the biggest international brands in the market.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's reunion at the latter's sister Arpita Khan's sangeet ceremony brought smiles on the faces of their fans. Their picture clicked while sharing a warm moment with Arpita had gone viral. However, everyone who got the glimpse of that moment missed the third Khan, Aamir in the frame. When questioned about the patch-up between SRK-Salman, Aamir said, "Yes, I got to know about the patch-up. In fact, they didn't let me sleep the entire night. Around 1:30 am, they first called me and informed about it. Then around 2:30 am, we did a face-time call. So this went on till early morning and they kept me awake." Aamir gave this statement while interacting with the media at the Mumbai airport, before leaving for the wedding, with wife Kiran Rao and son Azad.
We look at incidents that brought the 'rivals' together…

Award ceremonies: After their much publicised hug at an iftaar party in 2013, the warring Khans also hugged during the Star Guild Awards held in January, 2014. While Salman Khan was enthralling the audience as the host, he was gracious enough to hug his reported rival Shah Rukh Khan on the stage. When Shah Rukh went on stage to receive his award for the Entertainer of the Year, Salman stepped forward and hugged SRK, much to the delight of the audience. It was said that Salman even congratulated SRK for the success of his film Chennai Express at the ceremony.

Iftaar parties: It was expected to be a face-off when Salman and Shah Rukh Khan came face to face at an iftaar party thrown by MLA and former minister Baba Siddiqui last year. However, the two warring Khans kept their differences aside and gave each other a warm embrace, much to the shock of the onlookers. It is said while SRK was eating, Salman came and tapped SRK on his shoulder. SRK turned towards him and Salman embraced him. The hug became the most talked-about topic of discussion and got a lot of media coverage. It was considered as a new phase in their relationship. The two Khans continued the tradition and hugged each other again at another iftaar party this year

Movies: Salman and Shah Rukh Khan have done several movies in the past. Be it Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun where Salman and SRK played brothers or Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Salman and SRK have done several movies together. In fact, it is indeed a privilege for any filmmaker to bring these two megastars together for a movie. We so wish to see them together again on screen. K'Jo, are you listening?

TV shows: Not many people remember but Salman and Shah Rukh Khan made an appearance together on Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2007. The game show was then hosted by King Khan and Salman was accompanied by his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif in the show. The episode was historic as it had both the warring Khans sitting in front of each other. Salman and Katrina had come as celebrity guests to win the prize money for a charity.

After beginning his career with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year, Varun Dhawan is on a roll. The actor has had a wonderful year with two back-to-back hits in 2014. While Main Tera Hero managed to establish him as the typical hero material, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania further strengthened his image of the quintessential lover boy. But Varun is now experimenting with a dark thriller. He will be seen playing the protagonist in Sriram Raghavan's Badlapur where he will romance three ladies. A Mumbai Mirror report states that the actor will be seen locking lips with senior actress Divya Dutta, in the film. The report quotes a source as revealing that the two actors share a full-blown smooch and though they were uncomfortable at first, the scene was eventually executed after four retakes. The scene also seems to be a crucial part of the film. However, this is not the first time that the actor will be seen locking lips in front of the camera. Varun shared a liplock with Ileana D'Cruz in Main Tera Hero. And after his rather safe peck-on-the-cheek moment with Alia Bhatt in their debut film, Varun had smooched the actress in their next film together. It seems that Varun Dhawan surely loves his kisses.

However, he is not the only actor who is comfortable kissing his actresses on-screen. His contemporaries are keeping up with him. Here's taking a look at who's in the run for the serial kisser tag in Bollywood.

Sushant Singh Rajput seems to be the new actor to join the serial kisser bandwagon. According to a report in DNA, Sushant and co-star Swastika Mukherjee have shot the longest kissing scene for their upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. The report quoted director Dibakar Banerjee stating that he wanted to throw Sushant Singh off guard and hence he had not briefed the actor about his intentions of shooting a lengthy kissing scene. The report further stated that Sushant was displeased at the end of it, but when he saw the final shot, he seemed fine with it. Previously he had kissing scenes in Shuddh Desi Romance and is all set to share a hot lip-lock with Anushka Sharma in PK. The actor seems uninhibited when it comes to locking lips on the silver screen.

Siddharth Malhotra, who entered Bollywood with the film Student Of The Year, kissed Alia Bhatt in the movie. In his next film Hasee Toh Phasee, the actor was again seen in a hot lip-lock with Parineeti Chopra. He also kissed Shraddha Kapoor in his next, Ek Villain! Seems that Sidharth is hell bent on snatching the serial kisser tag from his senior Emraan Hashmi.

Arjun Kapoor too is on his way to be the next serial kisser. The actor has emerged as an expert in love-making scenes. In his debut film Ishaqzaade, he was seen kissing Parineeti and in his next film Aurangzeb the actor was seen doing intimate acts with Sashaa Agha. Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt set the temperatures soaring as they kissed onscreen in 2 States. While talking about his intimate moments, Arjun said in an interview to TOI, "It's the most natural thing to do. When a man falls in love, the first thing he will do is to kiss the girl. I think Emraan has broken the myth. Also, the audience today is sensible and understands the context of a scene. The love-making scene was integral to Ishaqzaade and Aurangzeb and was done aesthetically. We did not do it to add sleaze."

Ranveer Singh too is the new entrant in the gang of kissers. The actor was confident with his chemistry in his debut film Band Baaja Baarat with Anushka Sharma and was seen getting involved in a hot lip-lock. Further, he was seen kissing Deepika Padukone in Ram Leela. He was also snapped planting a kiss on Deepika's cheek at the Hello! Awards.

Ranbir Kapoor, who did a kissing scene with his ex-flame Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is confident about his on-screen lip-locks. He even had a a kissing scene with Southern hottie Ileana D'Cruz in Barfi! In an interview with the Times Of India, Ranbir said, "Kissing on-screen is extremely technical! You have to see if the light is coming right, if your face is in the right position for the camera. Besides there are so many people around! I am an actor and it's a part of my acting. I also don't usually need retakes. I am a good kisser."
